Lathe Turning for beginners
This course is for anyone with a passion to make something beautiful out of timber. It’s a wood turning course to make wooden bowls and give you the skills enough for you to go on make your own little wood turning haven! Always wanted a go at hands on woodwork? well come on then! let me show you! Come to my home workshop, have a day of one to one tuition – where we will discuss all things woodwork (including some safety bits). You will then get to lathe turn your first bowl, which is yours to take home.
What's included in the price?
Included in this course is a basic workshop safety tour, going through what tools and equipment you will using and how to use them safely and reliably. you will then be given a tutorial on how to prepare timber stock ready to be put on the lathe for turning, tuition will then begin!
Once you are familiar with the machine and I am confident you can competently work the machine by yourself, I will make tea and coffee, please bring your own packed lunch, you will need the energy! This is the main body of the day so will take up quite a lot of time, once you have completed the bowl, I will then talk you through how to finish it up ready for use! Should there be any time left over there is always something more to learn and take home.
